New Fiscal Finance Update - now Available
We are pleased to announce that we are now progressively
releasing updates to all of the Fiscal Finance modules. We are giving each module a
makeover and adding lots of new features. Download the update from our patches page.
AAS17 Lease and HP Accounting - we took special notice of the
comments made in our Christmas survey, and are please to announce that most if not all
suggestions have now been incorporated. Here is a sample of some of the improvements -
New Feesh look and feel - more visible information.
Ability to record an early payout / sale of an asset.
Quick Calculators for Lease and Hire Purchase repayments.
Better summary reporting.
Better individual reporting.
Archival feature - retain old contracts for future viewing.
Integration of Registation form into the program
Integration of Live Updates into the program
Integration of the new tutorials into the program.
Income Tax Functions - This has been
updated with the new look and feel, and all the new tax, medicare, and PAYG rates have
been incorporated. The simple tax estimate also automatically calculates the low income
rebate.
General Utilities - This has been updated
with the new look and feel.
Desktop Utility - We had a number of
requests to try and create some way of quickly opening a number of modules without having
to go through the programs menu. The Fiscal Finance Desktop is the answer. Just double
click on the icon on your desktop and the Fiscal Finance Desktop utility opens in your
system tray and you only need to right mouse button click to gain access to all of the
modules.
Other modules - the other modules have a
different colour scheme and will be updated throughout the next six months. We will alert
you to updates as they happen.
Fiscal Finance Tutorials - New Tutorials now
available
As a result of our survey, we announced in January that we
created some interactive tutorials for your evaluation. As a result of feedback we have
created some new tutorials that you should find most helpful in training your staff..
With the new Fiscal Finance update, we have created
tutorials for the three modules released today. They are the AAS17 Lease and
Hire Purchase Accounting, Income Tax Functions and General
Functions modules.
The tutorials can be viewed from an application that we
have created just for this purpose. This can be downloaded from our web site along with
all of the initial tutorials. Go to http://www.fiscal.com.au/tutorials/tutor.htm
to download the install file. As this is a large file (22mb) and will only get bigger, we
can also offer a CD that runs the tutorials direct from the CD ROM drive, so it can easily
be passed around the office. More details on this are on the web site.
You can also view all of the tutorials on-line at http://www.fiscal.com.au/tutorials/tutor.htm.
Social Security Calculator - Update
We have added a handy utiltiy to the Social Security
Calculator that allows you to determine the assessibility of allocated pensions and
annuities when looking at age pensions in particular.
We are still waiting on the offical rates (especially for
Family Tax Benefits) from Centrelink, as they are rather late this quarter. We will
announce the release of the update as soon as possible, or you check here for the latest update.
Licence Clarification
We just wanted to clarify the licence requirements of our
products in respect to branch offices. In order to keep costs as low as we can, we allow
you to install our products on as many computers as you wish in your office location.
However, branch offices must acquire their own licence. The only exception to this is for
notebooks that are used in multiple locations.
If you find yourself in this situation, and have now become
aware of the licencing requirement, could you please correct this ommission as soon as
possible.
Replacement CD's
Rather than increase our licence fees to meet rising costs,
we have introduced a nominal fee of $10 for every replacement CD requested. This just
helps us to absorb the costs of the media, copying and postage, as in the past year we
have dispatched a very large number of CD's that have been misplaced or lost.
We know you will not find this a great imposition, and of
course you can always download the files from our web site for free.
Travel Assistant - Opportunity for bookkeeping
and installation income
Travel Assistant version 2 has been released for some time
now. You already know that it is a full featured, double entry, back office system for
travel agents. If you have an agent that is still using a manual bookkeeping system, or
agents trying to incorporate accounting programs like MYOB or Quickbooks into their
business, this program is for them. This is a fully integrated system just for travel
agents.
We have been very pleased with the June 30 results at our
test sites. Bank accounts and been reconciled, trial balances balanced, and client trust
accounts also reconciled and balanced. BAS statements all completed, and the travel agents
looking forward to their audits, and wondering why they did not do buy it sooner.
However, it does not matter how good your programs are, if
you cannot get them to the clients they will always remain a secret. Not what we are
after. What we are looking for is accounting firms or bookkeeping firms that can install
the program, set up the opening data, and maybe even offer accounting or bookkeeping
advice or services as well.
If you are interested in becoming involved in this sort of
service please email us at info@fiscal.com.au for
more details. Our research tells us that 80% of smaller travel agencies are not adequately
coping with their accounting requirements. They need Travel Assistant and they need you.
Visit www.travelassistant.com.au
for more details about the program and download the evaluation edition.
